syawal picture book

 salam,

this is the continuation of the previous post. it sums up all the priceless moments in Syawal 2012. sometimes, pictures can tell you more than what can I do.

'Syawal' stories

salam,

here goes the Syawal stories..

1st Syawal : Heading to the nearest surau to perform solat sunat.

the first day started with solat sunat. right after we performed the prayer, we headed back to our hometown it took only half an hour journey. We had more than two kampungs to visit.

The first kampung, the one we missed and a place where we called real home, was located in Bandar Baharu, Kedah. The raya ritual started. I had a blast. HEAVEN, was the other word to describe the feeling. food were everywhere. i ate like a lady who had not had food to eat for few days. no one can say NO coz everyone did the same.  what made me felt very bad was when the little little children handed out their hands and started begging for duit raya. haha. where to find the money. you tell me! the raya ritual continued.

On the afternoon, we convoyed to our second kampung in Selama, Perak. They welcomed us with mee kari, nasi campur + fresh meat meals + soup and soo many more. again, we enjoyed eating and chit chatting. hohoho. maybe, that's what raya meant to us, the adults. cooking, gathering, chit chatting and getting up to date to the current family news.

The second Syawal was another hectic day. As always, we would stay at my tok's house in Kedah until the second day of Syawal. We received a huge number of visitors on the second  day. tak menang tangan. menu of the day was nasi briyani gam. some had to wait for their turn to sit due to limited spaces  in my tok's house and some had to wait for their plate turn. haha. no enough plates in the house. mana nak tau tetamu nak exceed the plates limit. By 1.30 p.m (estimated), the rice finished and luckily, they cooked extra rice and lauk pauk. if not, ambil bau je la. kami makan bekas tetamu je la. tapi sebab makan sambil sembang,  makanan sejuk terasa panas.  ala-ala kenduri pulak.letih kowt jadi host. dulu zaman-zaman muda and kanak-kanak, no one would demand our hands but now, everything turned up side down. baju baru melayang naik atas pokok nyok(kelapa), tinggal suit caterer. good bye to tangan lembut ibarat puteri di hari raya. But, i personally think, that's what raya meant when you were getting older. you won't feel the raya feelings if you skipped doing the kitchen chores.

the third Syawal, we were already back in our own house in Kamunting, Perak and busy preparing for 'kenduri' preparations on the next day.

The fourth day, again, we had  a small raya feast cum kenduri aqiqah. menu of the day was kampung style. ulam (petai, jering, timun), gulai ikan kering, ayam madu, kurma kambing and sambal belacan.
we had marhaban and berendoi and cukur jambul in the morning. i loved the zanji and the syair part where the message was about the responsibility of a son/daughter to his/her parents. the message was compact and precise from the story of the creation of man as mentioned in Quran till we grow up. interesting right. the tekong voice was smooth and melodious. perhaps, that's the reasons why the two babies slept soundly throughout the process till the end. the food finished by 5pm.kari tinggal kuah the late comers dapat makan kari telur ayam, as always. haha. sorry for the inconvenience.well, kami ramai saudara mara. yang lambat kena makan the left over foods la. macam kami la.the tetamu kept coming until late at night. ini senario biasa bagi orang-orang yang berkeluarga besar. letih tapi super best.

the 5th Syawal, off we went to Kuala Ketil, Kedah to visit my elder nephew. my bro's only son. the one whom we love so much. the one who keeps our thoughts and  memories to our only late brother.

the end..

regards,
me

just a piece of thought

salam,

it was yesterday when the PK HEM invited me to join a program specially conducted for year six students. they called it as pra-upsr program. they invited an outsider to conduct the course for the soon to be UPSR candidates. what made me feel so excited to share it here was when the instructor which happened to be a former teacher of mine said "They are weak in grammar items, see they can't even identify and differentiate the regular and irregular verbs". so sad.

i was even more  sad when the instructor introduced the 'stubborn verbs'. oho. for the entire of my life, my teacher never taught me about the stubborn verb.the basic two types are regular and irregular. hohoho. i simply didn't agree with the way he introduced the regular verb. he should introduced the universally used term for it. that's not the way to teach the students. it might not affect them now but in the future.

sakit mata eyhh.. major grammatical errors on the screen. students were proudly reading. i'm so little to correct the mistakes. i'm just a student teacher and not even a grammarian but at least, please!! check before you come and present the errors to the students.

students..they were so naive. when the instructor asked them to circle the regular verb, they did. proudly, the circled words by words. sadly, only two or three was right. kantoi, main tembak menembak.

takutnya nak jadi cikgu BI weyh!!!!

Syahira

risalah vs ijazah. which one is the most important?

salam,

this was the reason why i chose not to attend the second session of the workshop. both were equally important and wonderful but being human, you could only choose either one no matter how much you want to attend both. no matter how greedy you were, you still had to choose bec you are only human. kalau awak cacing, bolehla divide your body into two. i chose to attend the first session of the workshop and the next day, i chose to attend the daurah. i was trying to be fair to myself though deep in my heart, i wanted to attend both. both are priceless. the workshop was fully sponsored. i might have to pay RM 20 if i was not sponsored (if i'm not mistaken). meaning to say, i sedekah the 10 ringgit without having a chance to munch the priceless info.

come back to earth!!!
i enjoyed the daurah so much as it was conducted with stress free and in a not-so-formal condition. only sisters were invited. that made me feel even more comfortable.  they invited a sister from a medical college in Penang to share with us her opinions and ideas about the highlighted topic.

we, first, listened to the sharing. Then, we were divided into small groups of four to five and had a face-to-face sharing moment. i loved the face-to-face sharing part where you were free to share your ideas without any limitations. There's no right or wrong answers. Some might say, ijazah should be put much much more emphasized as compared to risalah and some might say both were equally important and some might also say, risalah was everything.hurm. like i said, there no right or wrong answers. what differed the opinions were the explanations.

From my personal opinion, both are important  but the degree of importance is different. Before i start, risalah here refers to dakwah & tarbiyah whereas ijazah refers to our degree or anything related to educational qualifications. the reason is everything starts from risalah but we should also put an emphasize on  ijazah. Both should tag along. The first rank goes to risalah but that does not mean ijazah will go down to number two. Both lies on the same level. Muslims are zero without risalah. We are zero without Islam. We are nothing without islam. Islam guides our way. Islam is not just a religion. Islam is wisdom. Islam is a political system too. Islam is everything and everything we do must align to Islamic laws and principles.

this is another reason that underlines my decision ;

The Prophet SAW used to tell his Companions to do : "Convey (knowledge) from me even if it is just one aayah" (Bukhari)

to be continued iA..class dah nak start.

my legacy

salam,
i drew this last Saturday  during  a workshop conducted by the creative sifu. it was fully organised by PAI specially for the fellow nuqaba'. i felt very bad for not being able to attend the second session out of two sessions which i bet was really useful and wonderful.

we were asked to come out with our long term plan which would benefit not only us but to ummah as a whole. as we all clearly known, " dunia ialah ladang akhirat". therefore, this was one way to hit the target. for what, doing something that only benefit us yet others could only stare at it uselessly.

here goes my plan,
May Allah ease my journey and provide me the right path and a strong will to hit this target.

my beautiful drawing..hahaha

reasons for this:
i'm (iA) a future wife, mother, teacher, sister, a housewife with degree (maybe =I) and etc. I have no reasons to say no or to avoid this path though i have other responsibilities circling around me in the upcoming future. iA, i would love to work from my home sweet home and infaq the future sweet little house for deen.

on the second phase and injury

salam,

today is the 12th Ramadhan. oho. time's moving. too fast. few days ago, i was so excited waiting for my friend. today, it has been a few days since my friend is here. few days ago, life was so hectic. assignments and tutorials came and left. few days ago, i was still struggling to strengthen my aims. few days ago, i didn't miss home but  these few days i did and now, i badly wanna go home.

time's moving and people's changing. from aims to hopes and even personality.

we're now entering a new phase called 'pengampunan' . lets grab the chances left for us . all the best peeps! pray for me too. lets do all out. push your clutch in and as it pushed in, change your gear to gear 5. kalau naik four-wheeled-drive, you can change to gear 6 either. make sure it is a fast and safe journey.

......................................
another version of story,

i was accidentally crashed my toe to the floor and now, it's still swollen and painful, a bit. a sign of terseliuh.huhu. but still, i can walk and happily use it though it's a bit painful. btw, this is not my first time. last time was twelve years ago. i nearly forget how it feels when your finger and urat-urat got swollen.

it was twelve years ago,
kalau budak-budak lain naik kayuh basikal cara normal, saya tak. biasa la budak panjang akal. handle basikal diterbalikkan dan baru drift. tu baru sikit. kayuh basikal dan bila dah laju kaki letak kat belakang. silap letak, kaki masuk dalam jaring. terseliuh.=) maklumla, semua adik beradik perempuan. yang nakal pun kami la, yang ayu pun kami la. 7 orang dengan pelbagai watak. ingat lagi, waktu terseliuh tu waktu petang. tengah main dan mencuba cara baru rempit basikal. tiba-tiba, dapat penyakit pulak. ibu jari masuk dalam jejari roda basikal. =) esoknya ada pertandingan nasyid. disebabkan kaki terseliuh, tak dapat masuk pertandingan nasyid. waktu pergi sekolah dengan abuya sebab nak hantar baju nasyid, menangis. baru ayu. hero to zero.

few days ago,
kalut2 kejar imam. nasib baik bukan sebab rempit basikal.
